Gladheart Lyric (Whippoorwill Newmoon X Rogue's Midnight Melody) is a 2004 filly from proven sporthorse lines.  She is a full sister to Gladheart Sonata, and so she carries the same strong performance lines from their sire, Whippoorwill Newmoon (Morgan Grand National Reining champion) and his ¾ brother Whippoorwill Ebony (21st USDF Intermediare II in 1999), as well as through Lyric’s mother, Rogue’s Midnight Melody who is closely related to Rogue’s Hill Galaxy (2000 USDF All-Breeds winner at Prix St. George).

An elegant mare, Lyric has a sweet,friendly disposition and “can-do” work ethic. After only less than 6 months of serious work undersaddle, Lyric and her partner, Molly Turner, took High School and Junior Rider Champion and Reserve Championships at USDF Introductory Level at the 2011 Oregon Dressage Society League Championship show. Lyric is continuing to be schooled by Molly and are well on their way to more blues at Training and First Level in 2012. 

Lyric has also proven herself as a broodmare, giving us a lovely bay filly (Gladheart Madrone) by Rogue Hill's Woodsman (Rogues Bay Gambit X Rogue Hill Steppin’ Out). Woodsman is an example of true Morgan versatility as, in addition to showing through Second Level in Dressage (including several World Championships), Woodsman was Reserve National Champion in Dressage Driving, Versatility and was the recipient of the 2009 Pacific Northwest Versatility Award.
