Gladheart Madrone (Rogue Hills Woodsman X Gladheart Lyric ) has quickly become one of our favorite foals. She is extremely sweet and people-loving (which certainly doesn't hurt!), but is also showing unmistakable signs of being the kind of equine athlete we prize.

Little wonder. Her father is one of the Pacific Northwest's most versatile Morgans. Woodsman has successfully competed through Second Level in Dressage, was Reserve National Champion in Dressage Driving, top ten Western Amateur Stallions, Regional Carriage Champion and winner of the 2009 Pacific Northwest Versatility Award. "Maddy's" mother, Gladheart Lyric, is half-sister to our own USDF All-Breeds Reserve Champion and AMHA Dressage Bronze Medallion recipient, Gladheart Linhawk, as well as being sired by 1994 and 1996 Morgan Grand National Reining Champion Whippoorwill Newmoon.

Maddy is correct and typy, with an innate desire to please. She is always eager to earn praise in whatever lesson she is given to learn. She is strong and very balanced in her movement and how she handles herself. Her pedigree, through Woodsman, brings in some of the best of the Old California breeding through King's River Morgan and mixes it with the tried and true lines of Brunk, Funquest and Whippoorwill.

For now, Maddy's main task will be to continue to grow and play...a job she takes very seriously!
